Monte-Christo in Modern Greek and the Ottoman context

The version of Le Comte de Monte-Christo in Modern Greek (O Κόμης του Μοντεχρίστου), translated by the Constantinopolitan teacher Ioannis Patroklos, and published between 1845 1846 five volumes French printing-house Cayol Beyoğlu, occupies a special place translation adaptation history Dumas’s novel “East”, as it was almost parallelly to first publication original work serialized journal des débats (1844-46).
